I was waiting outside the interview hall as the doorbell rang and a candidate came out. I had to wait for another 2-3 minutes. The staff outside the room make me understood the basics, as to where was the chairman and how many members were there in the board. As I opened the door slightly, I couldn't see the chairman so I ask the 2nd member for permission to enter. Then after a fraction of second as the door opened a little more I could see the Chairman walking. I took permission from him to enter. I entered and walked two steps and saluted him. It was a round table and my chair was in the center. I walked towards the chair and stopped before it. I wished everyone with a smile. The chairman asked me to sit. I thanked him and sat. He asked me to remove the mask and put in on the small table Infront of me.

The chairman- "We're very friendly people so at any point if you don't understand the question you can ask us to repeat. The interview will be English but if you are stuck somewhere then you can use the hindi words."

My interview medium was English.

He asked if I was comfortable and whether I had lunch.

I lied because I thought telling him that I haven't eaten anything will sound like complaining. I said that I ate a sandwich in the waiting hall. He smiled.

He said," Tell us about yourself, your education and your work experience."

I introduced myself. Introduction included my name, my district, schooling, graduation uni and subjects, experience in CISF and my previous org ie BSF and my hobbies.

He asked how many flights are there at agra airport. I said there are only two. It was a wrong info as 1 flight started 2-3 days before interview. I couldn't remember that. He asked 1-2 very basic qs about Agra airport. I could answer with ease.

Then he referred to the Lady member.

Lady1-," You've mentioned Parkour. What is it and how is it useful for CISF?

I had prepared this question. So I answered.

She asked again," You like singing. Who's your favourite singer?" "Do you play any instrument?

I answered the first question. I said I didn't play any instrument.

"How do you sing without music then?" Immediately after asking this question she herself said that there are a lot of Karaoke apps these days.

I said ," Yes ma'am. There are karaoke apps like smule. One can sing along on the karaoke tracks already available."

The next question she asked," Ok, You've worked in BSF as a 'constable' and now you are an SI in CISF. What things have you learnt from your officers. What are some of their qualities that you want to have in yourself?"

I said that I had been fortunate to serve under some very good officers in both the forces. The qualities that I liked the most was empathy, understanding of the problems of the troops under them and their commanding abilities.

She asked the same question in a different way," Think of your favourite officer. What qualities does he have?"

I imagined someone and I said that he was empathetic, easily approachable, always available for the subordinates and was a good orator.

She followed up with another question," Do you think oratory skills are genetic? or is it something that can be learnt with time?"

I said," Ma'am I don't think it is genetic. people can acquire it with practice and if given appropriate environment."

She asked," Then why is it that some people are good orators and others are not?"

I said," It might be that some people practice more and some practice less."

To this answer everyone in the room laughed. I smiled.

2nd Lady started with one of my hobbies," So you like Calisthenics. Tell me what it is and how it is different from gymnastics."

I told what calisthenics was and said that gymnastics is more rhythmic. If we add rhythm to cal, it becomes gymnastics.

She asked me the difference bw BSF and CISF.

I was expecting this question and I answered it well.

Then came an out of the box question, " What is inner engineering?"

I was surprised by this question as nowhere in my DAF anything related to this is mentioned.

I asked," Ma'am is it something spritual?"

She said yes. I said I didn't have adequate knowledge but I could guess if she allowed. She allowed. I said it meant throwing out bad habits from inside and imbibing good qualities. She nodded.

The fourth member started. He said," Agra is a small airport. let's come out of there. Imagining yourself working at the delhi airport. you are deployed around immigration area. theres a long queue. Suddenly a news spreads that the system has crashed. There's chaos everywhere. what will you do?"

I said the I'll ensure that an announcement is made on PA system that everything is under control and there's no need to panic. I'll deploy extra troops there so that the order and the queue is maintained. I'll coordinate with the authorities and enquire about how long the problem will take to be solved. If it is required, I'll ensure peaceful withdrawal of the people there to a safer area.

It looked like he was not satisfied with the answer. He said," But all this doesn't slove the problem"

I thought he wanted to get into technicalities. I have very little knowledge about working at big airports. So I decided to play safer. I said," I'm sorry sir, I don't know the answer to this question."

He moved on to the next question," What are the cyber threats to Delhi Airport?"

I could recall only two and apologized again.

The next qs he asked was " Compare rewards and punishment system of both the forces."

As I started answering, he stopped me and said " Just tell which one is more strict."

I said BSF and justified that BSF is a border guarding force. Little mistake can be disastrous.( While saying this I was thinking that it was wrong to say that. Because even in CISF, minor mistakes can lead to big disasters) While CISf is a soft spoken force. on minor mistakes , we believe that councelling will be enough. But if major mistake happens then there are punishments. "

We came back to the chairman.

Chairman-" We had a nice conversation . If you want to add something about you, your aspirations and problems in your organization, you can add.

This came as a breeze of fresh air. While preparing, I had related the meaning of my name to my aspirations. I used this as an opportunity to use those lines that I wrote.

And in the end I added," Although CISF is doing a wonderful job in the field of industrial security, there's one thing I want to add that elderly force personnel find it very difficult to adapt to the technology being used in the industrial installations. So the need of the hour is a bridge course in place of mere 5days induction course so that one gets a basic idea of the technology being used in the next unit if he/she's getting transferred from one.

This is when the Chairman said," Your interview is over you can go now."

I stood up. I thanked everyone starting from the chair to the ladies and finally to the last member. I saluted the Chair. I turned ( in proper drill) and I walked towards the gate in the normal chaal.

Hi I'm Dr Nidhi and I got selected in UPSC medical officer exam.. This was made possible only because of the guidance of Sanjeev sir... Attending the classes and giving mock interviews with sir was a great boost in my confidence ... In an interview the things u do are as important as things u don't do and nobody can teach them better than sir... Over the course of few days you will realise the tiny mistakes u have been making so far which didn't even seem important...I didn't even think that in just a week I can make such drastic improvement. Joining career quest was the best decision and I'll recommend it to everyone going for any sort of interview... Thank you again sir.. It was made possible because of you.

Hi I am Amol Patil, CAPF 2018 AIR 39. I have been allotted 102 marks out of 150 by the UPSC board. I took guidance for the interview preparation only from Kabeer Sir in Career Quest. Career Quest was suggested to my by friend who is already an Assistant Commandant.
I think interview preparation is very wide and subjective. It depends on individual and the preparation varies according to the person. But Kabeer Sir has mastered the art of coaching when it comes to interview preparation and he has strategy to make guidance according to the need of each and every Candidate. His vast experience helps him to share important points during the classes which helped me alot.
Just after interview I made call to Kabeer Sir and gave him overview of my interview. At that time he predicted my interview score, to my surprise is was 100% correct.
For each and every personality test related guidance Kabeer Sir's Career Quest will remain my first and foremost suggestion to everyone. Thank you Career Quest Team.
